Emmy arrived home after a long day, her heels clicking on the hardwood floor as she fumbled for her keys. Her home security system had just gotten an upgrade.. an impressive, sleek new panel that looked like it belonged in a sci-fi movie. The sleek black touchscreen lit up as soon as she approached, and she couldn't resist admiring the modern design. But, of course, she hadn’t exactly read the manual...

She hesitated, glancing at Dolce and Gabbana, her two mischievous cats, who were already darting around the entryway, excited by her return. “Alright, let’s get this over with,” she muttered to herself as she tried to input the security code. But, instead of disarming the system, she accidentally triggered the alarm...

A high-pitched screech blasted from the speakers, echoing throughout her home, making her jump. Dolce, the bolder of the two cats, immediately dashed under the sofa. Gabbana gave her a confused look before bolting toward the kitchen.

"Who needs a panic room when you’ve got this level of chaos?" Emmy groaned, her fingers fumbling as she tried to correct the error. The alarm continued blaring, and her first thought was to grab one of her stilettos and smash the panel to silence it. “It would be so satisfying...”

But as she stared down at her shiny new designer heel, glittering in the light, she paused. It was too gorgeous to break on the first day. "I’ll deal with the noise... for now."

She finally managed to disarm the alarm and thankfully, the cats had calmed down enough to come out from their hiding spots. Emmy sighed, hands on her hips, as she looked at the panel in defeat. "Note to self: read the manual. And maybe keep the heels away from tech!"
